GTC Receives Air Force Award To Use Machine Learning To Analyze Signals From Global Seismic Networks For Nuclear Event Monitoring

Sep. 2020, GTC has received a US Air Force award to continue developing deep learning-based seismic analysis tools for nuclear event monitoring. Under this program, GTC has developed software to discriminate the event type from an observed waveform signature. In this next phase, GTC is developing tools to associate the phases observed on a global seismic network. This solution will reduce workload for analysts in manually processing seismic waveforms by rapidly determining event type, location, and time.
