We are proud to announce GTC with its collaborators at Georgia Tech have written a chapter for the upcoming Handbook of Smart Energy Systems. The chapter, titled “Smart Buildings in the IoT Era – Necessity, Challenges, and Opportunities,” which addresses how IoT-enabled smart buildings can help mitigate some of our most pressing urbanization and climate issues. The chapter reviews the current sensing capabilities, domain applications, and new challenges and opportunities, before finally addressing the need for interoperability of smart buildings and smart cities.
GTC was chosen to contribute to this handbook due to our work in IoT, digital twins, and most recently our work for NASA modeling their enterprise and facilities to enable better decision-making across the agency. If you’d like to know more about our work on smart facilities, reach out to us here, or you can read the chapter online.
